Start at France-Visas

French visa fees, funds requirements and salary thresholds change. Always confirm current rules on the official France-Visas and service-public.fr pages before applying.

Validate the VLS-TS

A long-stay VLS-TS visa must be validated online within three months of arrival, or you lose legal status. Treat validation as part of the visa itself.

Prepare sworn translations

French offices ask repeatedly for civil documents like birth certificates with sworn French translations. Preparing them early unblocks CAF, healthcare and renewals.
